Halloween Kills’ Jamie Lee Curtis Talks About The Differences Between The Blumhouse Movies To Previous Sequels

Jamie Lee Curtis has had a long and illustrious career as an actress, but one character in particular stands out: Laurie Strode from Halloween. Curtis has returned to the beloved horror franchise several times over the years, and Halloween Kills will be released in theaters this October. She also recently made a comparison between the Blumhouse films and prior sequels. Halloween (2018), directed by David Gordon Green, broke box office records and began a new timeline that ignored all prior sequels. That plot will eventually be expanded into a trilogy, with Jamie Lee Curtis portraying Laurie Strode in a total of seven films. Curtis spoke about the franchise's history at the Venice Film Festival, where Halloween Kills had its world debut.

She said, “I think that what David has done, particularly with the 2018 movie, was to explore something deeper. We’re actors, so the deeper you want us to go, the deeper we will go, but also it was prescient what David and company figured out: We were on a verge of a wave of women understanding their own trauma and voicing it. The collision between the reality of life and the reality of Laurie’s life… happened in a pretty profound way.
